06.10.07 Saturday... First Weekend!
As promised, my little update on a weekend noon time;D
This week passed by so fast for me and I do really enjoy myself sitting at the front counter to help out with registration and trying to remember all our doctors names.
I was as blur as a sotong yesterday:P Kept misplacing my barangs barangs (handphone, file & logo badge) all around the office and thus had to run all over the building on my heels to find them.
Hmmm... Probably, that's the effect of having an unexpected visit from *ahem*... a 'close relative' in the morning. Luckily I knew she's coming and had made preparation else I wouldn't know how to survive the day:P Going to stock up supplies in my super spacious but un-strategic located locker.
So far so good.. all those staff are still quite okay and I'm feeling quite comfortable around them :) Next will be all those problematic docs. But it's okay... until I'm better trained and ready to go solo, will not have to interact so closely with those super air-headed ones.
Also, finally found a lunching khaki! ;D
She's like me, just fresh from school and been here for about 1 month. She's younger, just 20 this year and thus both of us can communicate quite well since all the rest are from the 70s or even older.
At least now, both of us can stick together and will not feel so intimidated by all those older ones and we won't feel so bored having to have lunch alone:)
Lastly... finally... I feel adjusted to the early hours!;D
Waking up at 5.30am proves to have helped my poor eyes to get rid of those extra bags below them and I'm feeling more refreshed too. Perhaps the morning walk to office did help a little too as well.
The very first official working life weekend! BB was pretty excited to see me 'evolving from a schooling girl to a working lady' (quoted) and thus came to pick me up at my workplace after a long work week :) Very sweet of him...
Digressing a little...
Talking about evolving, my dear friend has written a little about us and our friendship... the most exciting part is the old photos from secondary school! I nearly fell off my chair when I see my old self. U can check it out
here!Back....
Surprisingly, it only took a mere 25mins to come here from his workplace in Hougang! Very near and I can expect more rides home when I got to work till late hours in the night for evening clinics.
Straight after work, had to go down to Adecco in Orchard to return the SK-II uniform before heading down to Bodyshop's sale at Suntec City.
After a $13 bargain buy, which I managed to get a compact mirror, seaweed cleanser & 5 traveling bottles of assorted facial care products from the Vitamin E & Aloe Vera series, we went for a sinful dinner at
Swiss Culture!
Swiss Culture is located along the stretch of international food selections at the third floor of Suntec City, along the one where Kushinbo Japanese buffet is.
Was so hungry by then and we ordered 2 mains and 1 dessert! Basically, the rule of the thumb is to picked those with chef recommendations or some 'award-winning' claims.
Our orders include a mushroom cheese pasta topped with seafood, a swiss pork sausage with rosti topped with salad and a chocolate fondue!
Cheesy Mushroom Seafood Pasta
The cheese pasta tasted quite ok (I'm not a cheese fan) and I think it's quite normal except that the sauce has a milky texture and towards the end, I felt it was a little too cheesy for me.
Nonetheless... the seafood toppings which we added for $2 was so worth it! We had 2 mussels, 3 super succulent fresh prawns and 5 pieces of squid. Perhaps, next time should just get their seafood pasta in tomato sauce! :)
Just to digress a little....
All of you must go try the
Garlic Prawn Pasta from the
Coffee Club Express!!!! The prawns are simply so fresh and firm and the $ is super worth it!! Me and BB were thinking about it every since two weeks ago when we ate it with Martin and Eileen at the Central Mall's branch.
Swiss Pork Sausage, Rosti & Garden Salad
Nothing much to compliment for this dish as I think all sausages are equally salty and while rosti, to me, taste the same everywhere... hee :P
Ultimate Chocolate Fondue!
Chocolate Fondue!... yum yum yummmyyyy!!!! This is the first time we shared a fondue together, usually we would prefer ice-cream to chocolate but perhaps it's my relative *ahem* that I crave for chocolates and Andersen's ice-cream so much ;D
This one here from Swiss Culture at Suntec City cost us $14.90 which comes with quite a big plate of apples, bananas, marshmallows & strawberries.
The chocolate from this place is heavenly!!!
We were practically drinking the chocolate from the pot of liquefied rich dark chocolate and my stomach never feels full throughout this endless sinful treat to the large plate of fruits dipped in thick chocolate.
What I really like about this is its not-too-sweet factor and also the
rich and thick consistency which surprisingly is quite runny and unlike those overly heavy or easily dried up ones. Basically, the watery texture is not compromised of the richness of the chocolate and I simply love it!
It has a 5/5 stars rating from me.. hee ;D and btw, the two of us finished the pot of chocolate and we were super sinfully satisfied customers!
After the sinfully treat and a nice dinner place where we had a nice chat, we had to walk back to Marina Square where we parked the car.
Along the way, we passed by our favorite Precious Thots shop... this figurine caught our eyes!
You Are My Dream Come True
Soooo sweet!! They are having a wedding dance and I really really love the way this pair of figurine looked into each other's eyes. The 2 little birdies were super kawaii too!
BB likes things that come in pair and he has a strict feng-shui policy of buying things in pairs and thus he likes this figurine too!
Another figurine which I absolutely love...
Happily Ever After
This would make a really nice wedding gift... haha :P
Been eying on this since 1.5 years ago. Coincidentally, both these figurines were being displayed side by side in the display window and I was imaging them being displayed in our house in the near future.. oh-so-lovely!
Last destination... the flower shop of the Marina Mandarin Hotel has got such beautiful
luxurious roses!!! Now I know where to get my dream garden wedding flowers.. sure to cost a bomb but they are so gorgeous!!
On the way home, BB was giving me a little reiki to ease the stomach cramp and I just fell asleep on his car. This is so far, the second time I slept on the journey back home while he drives... it has been a tiring week indeed.. haha.
That's my little friday. Today, I'm just lazing back at home to catch up some sleep and also drama from youtube:)
