Splendid Friday (II)

"Sometimes love is hiding between the seconds of your life."
Ben Willis, from the movie Cashback

After the satisfying dinner, we headed down to Vivo City for the movie. Since there still a bit of time to spare, we went to
Beauty Credit located at B1.
Gotten 2 masks samples from them earlier when i bought a nice looking lip balm from the similar shop few weeks ago and i have to say, the masks are really quite good;D In the end, i bought both the Brown Rice and the Kiwi Yogurt wash-off masks. While they have cost a bomb, I was given a complimentary in-house facial voucher (worth $167.00) and also a eye treatment voucher (worth $90.95) from the lucky draw upon spending every $30.
Shall use the vouchers in the coming month, giving my face a nice treat during my birthday;D Also, I shall be extra hard working and apply the masks alternately every three days! haha.
There after, we hurried to Daiso to look for some baking utensils I needed for recipes that I would like to try.
Daiso is definitely a heaven for stuff like cooking utensils and household accessories like those washing machine bags. While not all the stuff are worth purchasing, some baking tools are really a steal! For instance, a lemon peeler (something you don't get to see in neighbourhood centers) can cost up to $13 in departmental stores and in Daiso, everything is for $2! Also, they have some nice packaging bags which look very pretty for gifts and also those clear folders which Popular book stores sell them at 60cents each while Daiso has it in a pack of 10 i.e. 20cents each.
Furthermore, those neighbourhood shops can actually charge you at a much higher price. One shop at the bus interchange near my place actually bought mini baking tins from Daiso and sell it at $2.40-$3.00 (really overcharged).
So do check out Daiso if you are having low budget and you may have unexpected finds;D

Lately, the papers have been featuring this movie titled 'Cashback' and to a large extent, it's mainly known for its artistic nudity in the film. The movie was so widely publicized that even Button Bear who hardly read the newspapers actually got to know about it and we were both keen to catch it.
This romance comedy is unlike all others perhaps because it is centered around arts and art forms in the setting of a supermarket based on the concept of 'time-freeze'. While the movie is those arty-farty types, the storyline is easy to understand and the ending is simply so sweet and romantic. There are also several funny jokes in the movie and we were pretty entertained throughout the two hours.
A beautiful quote from the last scene of the movie:
"Once upon a time, I wanted to know what love was. You just have to see that it's wrapped in beauty and hidden away in between the seconds of your life. If you don't stop for a minute, you might miss it."

After the nice film, we went to Page One and found a really funny and cute book titled "
This Little Piggy Went to Prada" by Amy Allen. The books features
twenty-one revamped, tongue-in-cheek, name dropping nursery rhymes and some of which were quite funny.
One of them is the 'Twinkle Little Stars' which goes like this:
Twinkle, Twinkle, Diamond Ring, in a blue box tied with string.
Tiffany's new princess cut, twice the size of baby's butt.
Twinkle, Twinkle, show you a spark, can't change slippers in the dark.
Nice? haha... I think it's thoughts provoking :P
