Merry Chirstmas!

* Holly Jolly Christmas*

25.12.07 Tuesday... Merry Christmas to You!

In another week's time, it'll be year 2008! How distant it seems when I was just entering university in year 2004... time is flying by so quickly!

On the 23rd, my family had a little festive dinner at home! All thanks to da-jie for her effort in preparing most of those delicious foods and subsequent help from mum and er-jie in setting up the whole dinner for all of us ;D

The little boy is as usual so cute with all his little actions and also a widen vocabularies he has picked up from daily conversations. It is a sheer amazement to know how much he loves food...

Despite being just 17mths old, he was so smart to sneak behind the towering fridge door for the yummy mango pudding. We were all amused that he was using his tiny fingers to swap against the pudding and continues to lick his fingers to taste the sweetness of the dessert.

But the most hilarious part comes when he did it at least for another 10 times after being caught in the act! Babies are just so innocent :P

Just some pictures to share...

The there comes the eve of Xmas where I had 2 celebrations, one in the office and another one with my groups of secondary school friends :)

Apparently, this is the first time where the staff at our level got together to celebrate this festive season and so we decided to throw a mini part for all. My dear assistant, Anne, bought a 2kg Xmas Truffle cake from this online bakery call Creative and it looks really pretty and big.

As usual, the clinic was running like a madhouse on the morning of eve and we only closed the clinic at 1pm. Nonetheless, we continued with a short makan celebration where we pop sparkling juice and cut the huge cake, sitting down together for lunch.

It was virtually impossible for all of us to have lunch together on normal days, even for Anne and myself since we have to keep the clinic running between sessions. So, it was a good get together lunch and the food was really good!

(missing in picture... fried mee siam & bundles of chocolates!)

The Truffle cake is seriously very very very very rich and yummy!! In between layers of the sponge cake, the spread was made of at least 99% dark chocolate + 1 % cream! So sinfully rich and good! *satisfying*

Then... BB who ended work at 12.30pm came around to pick me from office and he got to meet Lawrance, Anne's husband and they had a good little men's chat while Anne and I hurried pack up all the barang, tied up loose ends of our work before finally leaving office at 2.30pm.

Actually, I really enjoy working with Anne as it's really fun to be around with her;D She always does the most ah-lian and most un-glam stuff during work and she takes care of me like her little sister. Lucky me!

My immediate supervisor is really sweet too. He bought each of us a nice camera pouch and for my gift exchange, I received a cute pooh bear ferris wheel and a mini display lamp. The ferris wheel is really pretty and it has an in-build musical box which plays when the wheel is turned in the clockwise direction.

Despite a long weekend we had, BB has been going to many place and fetching me here there... He's my greatest x'mas gift so we decided not to exchange gift this Christmas! hah ;D

Ribboned BB w/our Donkey & Turtle (taken w/o his knowledge)

In the evening, we took a nice and less crowded MRT ride to Orchard Hereen to meet all my friends @ NYDC restaurant for a little Christmas dinner. It's been quite a long time since we all met but we had a great time given that we have been really old friends and we feel comfortable around one another.

Cooling Chocolate Mocha...

BB's German Pizza w/ lostsa CHEEZE!

My BBQ Spicy Chicken Sandwhich...

All the guys classmates... (BB from @ the left)

The Girls... (Girlfriends of our guy friends on the extreme ends)

Dinner was long 2 hrs session of chit-chatting and LingWei was really sweet to gave BB & I a pair of toy buns in sweet pink & white while the rest gotten hand phone charms *kawaii!*

And today... it was a spring clean in my room in preparation of 3rd sis wedding this Sunday. Mum was coaxing me in tidy my barangs since sis had shifted most of her things from the room to her new place. So there goes my little Christmas day packing and shoving away all those unwanted things.

To my amazement!

My shared piggy bank with BB now stands @ a grand $200 worth of 1 dollar gold coins! *happy*

Arggghh...That's my day, need to go iron clothes for the next 3days of work...:( Talk to you again real soon!

Cosumerism & Wallet

X'mas Candy Cane for You!

22.12.07 Saturday... Aftermath of a Bad Fall

Yesterday BB and I took leave from work to enjoy this long weekend and we decided to pop down to Orchard for some gifts.

There was mad consumerism virtually everywhere and we were part of the herd rushing to do some last minute Christmas Shopping over the weekend before X'mas day :)

For many instances, we were lost for what to buy then suddenly I remember my dear friend told me about getting a wallet for his boyfriend this festive season. Before she left for KL on Wednesday night, she msn me and consulted about wallets & coin purse.

Little did I know, the conversation turn out to be quite an interesting one... The main motivating factor in getting a wallet for her current boyfriend is to get rid of his old wallet which was a present from his ex. How smart! hah.

So in the mist of figuring what gifts we should be getting, I brought up this conversation with BB and told him about what my dear friend has told me. To my utmost surprise, only after a good 3 years that he reveals that his old wallet (before I replaced it with the one I bought) was from his ex as well *faint*

Nvm that I knew it later, it was changed anyway *wink*;D

So girls, get a wallet for your bf this Xmas! haha.

Anyway anyhow, talking about wallet... I seriously need to get a new one. We were searching for one at Takashimaya but there was none which caught my eyes.

The only one which caught my eye is from Agnes B concept shop in Raffles City and it cost a whopping $425!!!

Then we went to Gucci to find dear Linnet and I tell you, it's a madhouse in there. Actually, there was nothing much to fancy (personally, I dislike Monograms) but people were there to snap up many of those boring designers bags. She was so busy that we decided to just leave the shop as it was really crowded too.

Prada was right next to it... and guess what I saw? A really really pretty Hot Pink Satin Clutch! I was mesmerized!

If I'm super rich, the brands I'm would indulge in are Prada & Hermes :P *dreaming in lala-land* My rational? The bags from these two brands are more atas looking and for Hermes , it has really good quality leather which can even be hand down from mum to daughters!

So much of branded... tell me when I earn 5K a month and have no where to spend! haha.

Initially we also wanted to try out a pastry chef's restaurant in Paragon, unfortunately it was a full house so we decided to visit it during our week's long vacation in Jan:) FYI, the little cafe is call Canele which has been frequently feature by media. Apparently, their Macaron is one of the must-try.

In the evening, we managed to buy 2 tickets to watch National Treasures -the Secret Book and it was a great 2hrs show except that it is too much alike Jackie Chan's movie - The Myth aka 神話. It was quite a predictable ending but we do enjoy the show.

Had a bad fall in BB's house toilet after the show and guess I injuried the tail bone. It was so slippery in there and it was so painful that I nearly can't stand from the fall. Took me a great 5-10mins to get composed before limping out.

Now it got so bad that I can't bent down:( According to mum, it is badly bruised at the site *ouch! pain!* Did some research online and seems like there's no cure except to let it heal by its own and would take around 6-8weeks.

Guess my mobility speed around the clinic during work has to be reduced significantly else it could get worsen off. And think of that, I will be alone for 8days when my dear assistant goes on a trip to Korea (bring me there!!!). SOS.

The aftermath was a good 10hrs undisturbed sleep at home and waking up at 12pm for Brunch which turned out to be was a feast of vegetarian dished mum cooked in celebration of Winter Solstice on the Lunar Chinese Calender :)

Also I get to catch up on Witch Joo Hee (highly recommended by a teacher friend) and now I'm at episode 11! The next K-drama which I looking forward to is 1st Shop of Coffee Boy!

And guess what... I haven't even got started on the projects! At least I got the pictures printed! :P

Won't be updating that soon.. So a Merry Christmas to You in advanced!

Beautiful Evening

09.12.07 Sunday... A beautiful Wedding

This evening was the wedding banquet of one of our OCSV mates and she is none other my angel (in the angel and mortal pen pal game) during our 12 days stay in Yunnan for the overseas community service.

Coincidentally, we were in the same cooking team (so was BB) and she slept directly above me on the upper deck of the bed in our small squeezy bunk. She was also one of the brave souls who escorted one of our troubled teammate back home then. Very garang ;P

She is the fourth in our group to tie the knot and in coming June'08 it will be our team leader's turn *anticipating* He only broke the news this evening and it came as pleasant surprise :)

Every wedding banquet always bring back those sweet and wonderful memories we share during the short trip & the precious friendships we sought faraway from home.

Somehow time passes so fast that I can't imagine it has been a good 3.5 years since we were away from home and for me it was the longest time I left home.

Tonight, it was a sweet and sincere banquet with absent of 'goosebumpy' words of thanks but just simple speech which warms everyone's heart.

The groom was a humble chap who brought along so much laughter with his impromptu speech. Definitely not the most well spoken one but it was ignite with sincerity and according to our emcee (also one of our groupmate), it is farmost the longest speech he has ever made :)

The bride just shines under the spotlight and her little song presentation though was simple yet was meaningful. Her speech brought me teary eyes too. I just feel completely touched with their little words of thanks to their family & friends.

At the table, I was sitting beside another newly wedded bride who held both our hands during her wedding in July and sending her our blessings just like ours towards hers.

Virtually everyone asked us the same question and I don't think I need to mention the obvious.

There's a surge of pressure over our heads during the evening and BB was also lost for an answer... I guess the time shall come soon but it is still all uncertain. Wait till we get engaged, things will get more certain then ;D

Now, we are just enjoying the courtship, after engagement... our heads will start swelling like all other couples while preparing for their big day so let us have some mental preparation!

Anyway, I have 2 more sisters to go before my turn and one of them is soon to be!

I'm really excited about hers since she's the closest to me and we have been roommate for at least 17 years. I will miss her poking fun at me during bedtime and probably it will feel much quieter in the house when she gets married and shifting into her new apartment.

Also at the banquet, a break from the conventional wedding dinner, the dessert was serve in over the buffet line and it was really refreshing :) A nice get-to-know session which I even got to meet a university friend's bf who happens to be the groom's friend. What a small world...

It feels quite good to be seeing your friends walking down the red carpet and knowing that one day they too will be the ones sitting at the corner looking at you and giving you their blessings.

Till then, please take lots of care my dear friends. We shall meet soon!

A day @ Home

.. Rest a little Rest ..

08.12.07 Saturday... Sleep, Eat, Bake & Cook!

Weekend weekend!

No plans for the day, wanted to go IMH in the afternoon but was deterred as I overslept till 2pm *geez* In the end, I landed up home alone as 2rd sis, 3rd sis & mum aren't at home and BB was also busy involve in some house cleaning, unfortunately not his own house! haha :P

Talking about yesterday, BB & I made our trip down to Causeway point to look at the Precious Moment's figurine and we decided against buying it since it did not match up to our expectation. *save money* :)

Landed up, we had our dinner at home and watched 'I now pronounce you Chuck & Larry' which turns out to be a really good show and we had a fair share of laughter. It was a pleasurable and relaxing evening staying away from the Christmas shoppers crowds.

So.... back to today...

Given that I have virtually nothing much to do *blissed* I decided on some online shopping ;D

Bought a pack of large brads and rub-ons from Scrapbooking Cove which all in all cost me $16.00. Also I have shortlisted all the pictures I would need for the projects and shall get it printed tomorrow :)

Then I got back to square 1 aka nothing to do... so next step is to *EAT* & which I realised there is a bunch of ripen bananas lying on the kitchen table. *Blink* The thoughts of baking instantly came to my mind and thus I hurried to check out some recipes.

Ta-da! Volia~ I found the recipe of Banana Bar from one of the Periplus Cookbook series! Lucky me, I had all the ingredients that are needed *super happy*

I love using the kitchen when no one is at home. Reason being, no one will be bugging beside me or walking about in the kitchen to distract me somehow or another :)

Been wanting to try baking a cake since quite some time ago but I can't seem to find any appealing recipe to try my hands on. So this is my first time baking a little cake ;D

After some 2hrs of labouring in the mini kitchen, here's the result!

*Fresh & pipping hot from the oven*

Cut into large slices...

Viola! My first attempt on baking cake! Nice? ;D

While waiting for the cake to cook, takes about 40minutes, I also managed to whip up a simple dinner for myself from whatever there was in the fridge. Here's my little fried rice in vibrant colors!

So back to the vicious cycle... I ATE! and then surf on the internet and sleep! Just another day:)

Blogging from Work!

07.12.07 Friday... TGIF! Friday in Breeze!~

First time I got to sit in my office and surfing the net to blog! geez*

Unexpected Peace & Serenity at this hour of the day (lunch time) in this time of the year where all the doctors go on leave etc.

Anyways... I was just wondering if this blog is being read a not, considering I hardly update as frequently as before since it's been so tiring from a long day of work during weekdays.

Btw, the precious moment's figurine -Rock Around the Clock is out for sale! Cost $169.00... *heart ache* This month is really bad with weddings and xmas gatherings etc.. V Tight budget!

Hmmm, actually the real one doesn't seem as appealing in the picture. Feeling ambivalent whether to get it a not, but I know BB really likes it alot because of the dancing embrace pose.

Hee... gotta scrimp and save! U know I just spend $95.00 on scrapbooking materials despite a tight budget as I have 2 big projects coming up and I have yet to print the pictures to scrap :P

Oh did I tell you, I decided to take a half day urgent leave on Monday to visit Made With Love? I earn a grand total of 20stamps on my little card & which allows me to redeem a $35 class *woohoo!* thanks to double stamp Monday! ;D The mash & suggages dish serve by the cafe was really yummy too!

Today, me and BB shall go home and watch DVD while munch on QQrice balls from Novena square. hee.. we have got bigger plans coming up so gotta save!

I guess he must have burst his pocket with the recent purchase of a carrot for his bunny (i'm quite sure of that though he refuse to tell me anything yet kept dropping hints) & our huge purple sweet. Lots of weddings too!

This weekend, we will be attending the wedding of our common friend *exciting*.. haha. But it's quite a headache thinking how I would need to drag myself out of bed on coming Monday morning @ 5.20am, considering I can only sleep at 12.30am. *gosh*

Okie dokie... gtg now (12.27pm). Need to print a lot of stuff :P hee.

Weekend!! Can't wait!

Weekend Bliss

*The Weekend Bless*

02.12.07 Sunday... My Beautiful Weekend

This one of the weekend which I felt that has been really well spent and it was simply a unexpected beautiful one.

Just as we though it was just another Friday evening at VivoCity, the outburst of fireworks display was just beyond this world. It was beautifully coordinated and we were blessed with an exceptional unblocked view.

Totally mesmerizing... especially when it reaches the finale where hundreds and thousands of fireworks dazzled in the night sky and the crowd just went 'wooo & aaahhh' as it was really beautiful. I think they score better than National Day's fireworks display. Everyone was cheering & clapping at the end of the show, I was one of them too :P

Saturday evening, we decided to catch Lee Ang's Lust, Caution at Plaza Singapura. Thumbs up! Don't ask me why I like the show as it's really hard to explain. I would say it's quite an A-listed show and everyone should go catch this movie :)

The show only ended at 12.30am and we took a nice evening stroll down to Somerset station to catch a night rider home. The Christmas lightings this year is at least a thousand times better than last year.

I just love those gigantic sliver-ish blue snowflakes hanging down the trees, they are really beautiful! BB & I really enjoyed the nice evening stroll with so much pretty lights to accompany us home.

Also, I finally got to buy my first LBD! *little black dress* and managed to complete my Laneige skincare set with an addition of 4 basic items! Seriously, the waterbank series is very good! I'm now a Laneige Girl ! ;D

Then... I also finally bought a sunscreen lotion for face from Sunkiller! It is one of the really light weight sunscreen lotion in the market with an affordable price.

The one I bought is called Whitening water with SPF 50 PA+++ and for 30ml, it cost $14.70. The luxurious one is definitely from Clarins which for the same amount cost 4 times higher. Nonetheless, I satisfied with this one here ;)

There comes Sunday... where BB & I had to help my 3rd sis in shifting her barangs barangs to her new house. Really a lot of BARANGS!

But it is one the the rare mornings where I was being treated to the luxurious Roti Prata and BB was so super lucky too since he was finally being given permission to stay over at my place in order to help my sister this morning and he didn't have to join me in eating Gardenia bread for breakfast.

My sis was also kind enough to feed us full before making us help her with all her barangs and we managed to complete everything in 2 hours time :P Btw, my sis house in just in the vicinity of our place and luckily her husband's rented room was too.

Come my turn... BB has already decided that he will help me by taking some stuff home progressively over several weekends, probably will take about 3 trips? haha :)

Then.... even before my roti prata has got chance to be fully digested, we were treated to Lor Mee for lunch and Cheng Theng as the after meal dessert *super full*

After all the shifting, we had a little rest back home ;D *nice weather for afternoon nap!*

There goes my little leisure weekend! yeah! on half day tmr *happy* shopping shopping. Till the next weekend!

Enchanting Enchanted

24.11.07 Saturday... Walt Disney Ever After

BB & I saw the movie trailer of Enchanted in July and since then, we have been waiting for a long long time for this movie! The trailer was simply so cute that make us went gaga for days :P

Coincidentally, my company was selling us movie tickets at a cheap steal early this week. Guess what? I only paid $11.00 for 2 weekend movie tickets to watch Enchanted! ;D super duper happy! Even if they aren't selling it any cheaper, BB & I would still have caught the movie over this weekend.

Was down with a really strong flu virus on Thursday and hence I went on MC yesterday and whipped up a spaghetti dinner for ourselves. We rented the dvd 'License to Wed' which happens to be a really nice show and we enjoyed it very much.

The flu bug did dampen my spirit by a little and especially when the weather was so horrible plus the really bumpy ride on bus 190 to town. Worst of all, the flu seems to have aggravated after some antibiotics.. pray hard I will get well soon else will suffer when the new work week comes.

Nonetheless, with a good companion and a wonderful movie, things always turn out to be fun ;)

BB & I were munching on a pack of 'xiao man tou' aka those honey biscuits while laughing our lungs out upon seeing all those urban pests crawling their way into a city flat to help out the lovely Princess with some household chores.

And also.... I love her dresses! OMG... I know they are all made from curtains but they are certainly gorgeous!

The one which I really like is the turquoise dress which has a flattering empire cut design with puff sleeves. The flower prints & ribbon are so sweet looking!

Some still pictures from the Walt Disney movie...

Perhaps, I should get myself a dress like this but hopefully it wouldn't turn out to look like some PJs... haha :P

Anyway anyhow... it's so far the 2nd month into my job & today marks the 2nd payday! :P

Time always passes by quickly... At times, really met up with v v v v v v super RUDE people and it spoils your entire day but I guess at least I'm fortunate that things are not mundane and this is a good learning ground for me before I move on to something more exciting :)

Till the time comes, there's so many big plans ahead and I guess it'll really be an exciting year for BB & I :)

Exactly a month away to Christmas! Jingle bells, ginger breadman, X'mas tree, pressie, dinners, gatherings & can take leaves from work!!

Rest Rest & more rest... flu bug please go away asap!
